Fire Suppression Leak Detection in the Greater Seattle Area
Locate leaks in fire sprinkler and suppression lines without unnecessarily disabling the system.
A leak in a fire suppression line is one of the more delicate jobs in commercial leak detection. The system has to stay reliable, the building can't sit unprotected for long, and the locate has to be precise enough that the repair doesn't extend a planned outage. Simply Leak Detection works with sprinkler contractors and property managers across the Greater Seattle Area to pinpoint these leaks quickly and document everything cleanly.
How fire-line locates work
Most calls involve underground fire service lines from the meter vault to the backflow riser, or to fire department connection points. We coordinate with the fire-protection contractor on isolation, then use acoustic and tracer-gas methods to find the exact location of the leak - whether it is buried under a lawn, parking lot, or other landscaping.
The objective is to limit the system's out-of-service window. The faster the leak is precisely located, the shorter the repair takes and the sooner the system is back in protection.
What we work on
Underground fire service mains and fire department connection lines. We coordinate with the fire-protection contractor on all isolation and re-pressurization steps so the system stays under their control.
Documentation for compliance and insurance
Fire-line events almost always involve insurance and AHJ documentation. We provide a written summary of findings, included with the invoice, with marked locations, photos, and method notes that fits into the property's records and supports the sprinkler contractor's repair documentation.
- ◆Underground fire service main leaks from the vault to the building

Fire suppression locates require careful coordination - we work alongside the sprinkler contractor, not around them, and we know which methods to use without compromising system integrity.
